It has been reported that Frank Mir will temporarily move over to Strikeforce to fight Daniel Cormier in the promotions last event.
In an interview with USA Today, UFC President Dana White confirmed the move: “There has been a lot of speculation as to who Cormier would fight next, and this is the fight that makes the most sense. The reality is, Cormier is one of the best heavyweights in the world. He just won the Grand Prix and beat Josh Barnett. He needs to fight opponents of that caliber, and Frank Mir is that guy.”
Cormier had this to say: "This, to me, is bigger than just this fight. It shows that the executives at Zuffa – Dana (White), Lorenzo (Fertitta), Sean Shelby and Joe Silva – are able to work in a way with Showtime where they can start to make these types of fights. It's not my job to choose who I'm going to fight. I'll fight whoever they put out there. It's going to be three years (I've been fighting professionally) in August, so I can't pick and choose. I've just got to get in where I can fit in."
If Cormier beats Mir, you have to wonder if his next match would be for the title. This is a great fight for Mir too who could prove that he still has what it takes to be an elite heavyweight. When an exact date and main card is announced we will be right there to let you know.

For all of you who tuned into UFC 155, you saw a good card including a fight of the year candidate, Lauzon vs Miller. What you also saw was Junior Dos Santos get dominated like never before. While most people probably came away impressed with Velasquezs' performance, I, on the other hand, was not blown away but was disappointed with how Dos Santos fought.
