UFC 155 is getting closer and closer and as Junior Dos Santos has been talking about his opponent Cain Velasquez Alistair Overeem. He had this to say:
"I'd gladly shut him [Overeem] up because he's been saying a lot of crap, he's been learning from Chael Sonnen," according to an interview with Tatame.com. "I'm tired of these guys who think they're so big, so strong, so bad and that people will get frightened by them because they look bad. … I really told Dana White I'd love to fight Overeem. Beating Overeem, actually that's what's going to happen when this bout actually happens. It would be a pleasure. … Overeem deserves a beating and I'm going to arrange that."
Both men have been going back and forth for a bit now but what surprises me is Dos Santos' emotionality. He really hasn't showed this type of emotion until now. Overeem has definitely gotten into Dos Santos' head but I could care less about that. I think Dos Santos will wipe the floor with Overeem… well maybe not that bad but his toughest test is only a short time away and that is Cain Velasquez.
Although Dos Santos made short order of Velasquez, to the dismay of fans that watched the free fight, Velasquez is a determined and skilled fighter. Now, I believe that Dos Santos will walk away with a W again but that subject I will save for a future article. What I am questioning is Dos Santos' focus on Velasquez. Has he forgotten that Velasquez is the second most dangerous heavyweight in the division and has only been beaten once.
His non-stop chatter at Overeem suggests that he has. Luckily I believe Dos Santos is a level headed and grounded man but the real test is at UFC 155.
Why Junior Dos Santos lost at UFC 155

For all of you who tuned into UFC 155, you saw a good card including a fight of the year candidate, Lauzon vs Miller. What you also saw was Junior Dos Santos get dominated like never before. While most people probably came away impressed with Velasquezs' performance, I, on the other hand, was not blown away but was disappointed with how Dos Santos fought.
