As reported by ESPN, Anderson Silva has told Dana White that
he does not want to fight again for the rest of the year. Silva (32-4) is the
current record-holder for most UFC title defenses at 10 and has a perfect 15-0
record since joining the promotion in 2006. This will be Silva’s first time
fighting only once in a calendar year.
"Anderson said he wants to take some time off until after the end of this year, then we'll start talking to him," White said.
This means that number one contender Chris Weidman will have to take another fight or wait for “The Spider” to return. Silva’s camp has expressed more interest in fighting current welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre.
"I guess (St. Pierre) says he wants to fight (Silva), too," White said. "Could be."
St. Pierre is set to face the Interim title holder Carlos Condit at UFC 154. Condit beat sent Nick Diaz “into retirement” by defeating him with a five round decision. As you might know I am a big Condit fan and have predicted the upset victory for Condit.
Whether or not the super fight happens or Silva takes his unprecedented leave of absence, we will have to wait and see.
Why Junior Dos Santos lost at UFC 155

For all of you who tuned into UFC 155, you saw a good card including a fight of the year candidate, Lauzon vs Miller. What you also saw was Junior Dos Santos get dominated like never before. While most people probably came away impressed with Velasquezs' performance, I, on the other hand, was not blown away but was disappointed with how Dos Santos fought.
